In an effort to put all of my professional interests and activities under one umbrella, I call myself an applied anatomist. I developed my undergraduate degree in Neuropsychology and Physiology of Human Movement and then completed a traditional masters degree in Anatomy and Medical Education. My particular areas of focus and interest are developmental movement, fascial patterning and lymphatics. Currently I research developmental movement deficits related to ADHD as I near the completion of my Ph.D. in Integrative Medicine from Ohio State.
Professionally my focus is centered on teaching and playing with functional anatomy. I currently teach anatomy and physiology at Columbus State Community College. I also prosect cadavers for use in undergraduate courses. First as a student and now as a prosector, my time in the anatomy lab has revealed to me the fascinating functional integration of our bodies. My work with cadavers eventually translated into the fascial unwinding work that I have been doing with living clients for the past decade or so. The applied anatomical approach that I use has come to be called Somatic Integration Analysis (SIA). I work with clients privately and teach various aspects of applied anatomy to individual practitioners, professional groups and out in the community.
